About Anam Cara
We welcome everyone on the journey inward.
About Anam Cara, our philosophy is inspired by the ancient Gaelic tradition where an “Anam Cara” is a soul friend — a guide and companion on your inner journey. Moreover, we believe nature is the ultimate soul friend, and therefore, we cultivate a serene space for personal discovery. As a result, you can flourish within a community of kindred spirits.
Natasha Mahindra
Natasha Mahindra is a certified yoga therapist and founder of Anam Cara Yoga Retreats, a yoga travel and adventure company. Initially, she completed her first teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa with Sonja Appel, followed by another teacher training in Hatha Vinyasa under Bharat Shetty. Furthermore, she is a certified yoga therapist from the Kripalu Center in Massachusetts, and over the years, she has been working in the space of chronic illness and structural issues for over 12 years. Beyond this, stepping outside the realms of traditional asanas, she enjoys Sufi whirling and dynamic dance meditations. In addition, she is passionate about discovering ancient systems of practice for women and conducts yoga sessions for children.
Natasha creates beautiful spaces and intimate gatherings, using sound, art, and dance therapy in collaboration with yoga and other healing practices to offer a holistic experience out in nature. For her, yoga means dropping the masks we wear and giving light to our shadow selves. Moreover, yoga for her is a way of life — a path through which we can choose to experience all that we cannot explain within us and around us. In essence, it is an invitation to connect deeply with ourselves and the world around us.
